Lagniappe, pronounced LAN-yap, is a Cajun-French word meaning “a little something extra.”
In New Orleans, lagniappe is a way of life, a little extra treat, a surprise tucked in, something you didn’t expect but are awfully glad to receive.
Lisa’s Lagniappe is my little something extra for you. Each month, I’ll send you a 5×7 print of my artwork, inspired by the colorful characters, food, music, flowers, places, and everyday magic that make New Orleans so special. And because every good lagniappe needs a little surprise, you’ll also receive a little something extra, maybe a sticker, a magnet, a favorite local recipe, an extra print, or some other bit of Lisa’s Joy.
And it all arrives the old-fashioned way.
Your colorful little envelope will be packaged by hand, stamped, and sent through the U.S. mail, from my home to yours. A little art. A little New Orleans. A little surprise. Delivered right to your mailbox.
Frame your print and hang it on the wall. Tuck it into a favorite corner. Send it to someone you love. Stick the lagniappe on your fridge. However you enjoy it, I hope each month’s envelope brings a little Joy, color, and New Orleans magic into your day.
And as the months go by, you’ll become one of my collectors, as you watch my art and your collection grow.
